Hatfield and McCoy Marathon and Half Marathon- June 14th, 2008

This was a great small-town race (about 500 people total). It was amazing to see all the runners coming from all over the US for this race! The race ran through Kentucky and West Virginia and had some great scenery along the way! I ran the half on this one and David ran the full. The first half was great- weather was perfect! Second Half it was pouring down rain, sure glad I decided only to run the half! The race was well organized including the Pasta Party the night before which was included in the marathon price. During the Pasta Party they did a skit which talked about the history of the feud between the Hatfield and McCoys! This was well orchestrated and very interesting! Both races ran by several of the sites that were part of the feud! Race Director was very engaging with runners! We definitely would run this again and would recommend to everyone!
